Creamy Sage & Walnut Chicken Skillet
Warm, earthy, and wonderfully comforting — seared chicken breasts in a sage cream sauce finished with toasted walnuts.
Ingredients
- 2 boneless chicken breasts
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 6–8 fresh sage leaves, chopped
- ½ cup chicken broth
- ½ cup heavy cream
- ¼ cup chopped walnuts
- Salt & pepper to taste
- Optional: a squeeze of lemon for brightness
Instructions
- Season the chicken with salt and pepper.
- Heat the olive oil and butter in a skillet over medium heat.
- Add the chicken and cook 5–6 minutes per side until golden and cooked through.
- Remove the chicken and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the garlic and sage and sauté for 30 seconds.
- Pour in the chicken broth, scraping up the browned bits.
- Add the heavy cream and simmer until slightly thickened. Stir in the walnuts.
- Return the chicken to the pan and spoon the sauce over it.
- Optional: finish with a tiny squeeze of lemon.
Toast the walnuts for a few minutes first for extra depth.
